SELECTION POLICY
 
  1. Final selection date, time and venue will be well notified.
  2. Selection times will be separate for each team.
  3. Each player shall make himself or herself available at such time.
  4. Each player shall wear a visible nametag
  5. If for any reason a selected player withdraws the coach of the affected team must notify the coaching coordinator who will liaise with the selection committee re a replacement.
  6. An official of BBNA Inc Executive shall speak to all nominated and selected players
a)     At commencement of selection procedure
b)     Prior to championships
  1. Players at an appropriate time may approach the selectors for a review of their performance in line with selection criteria.
  2. Players will be notified on Brunswick Byron web site of their selection.
 
 
 
    SELECTION CRITERIA
 
    Players should consistently show the following attributes;
    1. Ability to listen and carry out instructions
    2. Respond accordingly to coach, manager, umpires, other officials, teammates, opposition,
        and playing conditions.
    3. Positive attitude and enjoyment of netball
    4. Perform techniques and skill in performance being the following;
            Footwork - landing, pivot, step, balance
            Ball Skills- throwing, handling, offloading.
            Awareness - position, spatial, team and opponents.
            Attacking play – timing.
            Defending play – intercepting, rebounding, shadowing.
            Knowledge of role of position
            Fitness, speed, strength, accuracy, determination
            Body control.
            Present ability.
            Potential ability.
            Commitment to improve and accept changes.
 
 
 
 
 
SELECTED PLAYERS
 
Players selected to the Association Representative teams shall:
 
1.      Present herself on stipulated days for coaching, unless prior official leave of absence is granted.
2.      Be a candidate for the umpires Theoretical Certificate (or hold a current theory pass)
3.      Pay such expenses as set down by the association
4.      Players who miss (2) two training sessions or a carnival without a good reason shall be reported to the selection committee with the possibility that their position in the team be forfeited.
5.      Partake in all extra fitness training sessions.
6.      Any player selected in Brunswick Byron netball Association Incorporated Representative teams may not take part in any other Associations games on Saturdays or Sundays during her period of obligation.
7.      Any player selected in BBNAI Representative teams must play a minimum of (3) three games in the BBNAI competition prior to the State or State age Championships event/s, entered exceptions at the discretion of the selection committee.
8.      Abide by the Player Code Of Conduct.

Represenative Trials 2012

Representative Netball Starts on Tuesday 7th February at Brunswick Byron Netball courts, Byron St Mullumbimby.

New players to the area are welcome to attend as well as those returning .

The following age groups , 13s, 14s,15s, commence on this day  7th of Feb, from 5 pm onwards.

* 17s commence on Monday 6th  February at 5.00pm to 6.30pm at Byron Bay Netball courts Rec ground

*11 years Development start training TBA

*U12s  years commence training on 21st Feb

SELECTIONS DATES

15s  and  U17s Tuesday 21st Feb 6pm

 13s  21st  Feb 5.15pm

14s,  28th Feb 5.15pm 

11yrs Development TBA

12s,  6 th March 5.30pm

16.REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS
 
a.      The Selection Committee shall select teams with a minimum of eight (8) players, based on age and level of competition entered.

b.      All members of the Association shall be eligible for selection to play in teams representing the Association to play at such carnivals and functions as decided by the Rep Committee.

c.      Representative team coach is to liaise with Representative Committee on the number of players required in each team. Selection Committee to be notified of this.

d.      The 17years Representative team shall consist of no less then 10 players.

e.      Disciplinary matters arising from Representative Carnivals to be dealt with by a Judiciary Committee consisting of President, Secretary, Representative Co-Ordinator, Convenor of Selection Committee and Association Representative to this carnival. Player to appear before this committee with coach and parent where applicable.
